Hike to the top of Mount Coolum and experience the views. Set up a tee off time at Mount Coolum Golf Club for a day on the links. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Asante Day Spa. Take the family to Aqua Park, the world’s largest water park or try surfing lessons to learn how to ride the waves.

1. Mount Coolum National Park

Rated the top attraction in Coolum on Trip Advisor, the 208-metre high volcanic rhyolite dome gives a panoramic view of the sea and the hinterlands. The park contains several ecological zones including eucalyptus forests, wetlands, rainforests and montane heath. Visitors can view rare plant species native to this area of Australia. The trail to the summit is challenging in sections, but some portions are easy enough for walkers of any level. Birdlife abounds with peregrine falcons soaring overhead and honey feeders savouring the flowers and plants. During whale migration seasons in the winter and spring, pods of whales can be seen.
