24 Things to Do Before Leaving The Sunshine Coast

  1. Have a coffee at Fox and Hound in Cooroy. A little bit out of the way but tie it in with a day to Pomona, Kin Kin, Eumundi and Kenilworth. This little hole in the wall attached to a bakery serves amazing coffee  - starting early.
  2. After you’ve sampled the coffee at Fox and Hound in Cooroy and explored the shops, head on over to Pomona to check out the main street and at the end of the day, why not sample the craft beers at Bonsai Brewhouse. This quirky beer garden serves all kinds of craft beers and woodfired pizzas. 
  3. Need more time away from the beach? Fancy honing your cooking skills? The Sunshine Coast’s best restaurant, Spirithouse, has an amazing cooking school where you can learn all there is to know about Asian cooking styles and ingredients. Bookings essential. Cost is $150 for 4 hours.

  14. A great one for the kids and adults alike. A tour of Maleny Dairies will open your eyes to the process of getting milk from cows and out to the shops. Fiercely independent, this family owned dairy will outline how they’ve managed to stay viable in the post era of milk industry deregulation.
  15. For the adventurous kids who like jumping off inflatable things into lakes. The Blibli Water Sports park will keep the kids occupied for hours. 
  16. Do you like mexican food? Do you not like normal chain restaurnt mexican food? For real, mexican with real cocktails, try La Canteena where you'll see how things are done properly, This funky restaurant also has the odd DJ popping in. 
  17. Like those donuts that are beyond rich and have more filling than you can imagine. Try Sunshine Sunshine at Currimundi - they serve amazing coffee also.

  20. Take a sunset stroll along Coolum beach and finish the night at the Summer Twilight Markets and dinner at one of Coolum’s best resturants.
  21. An oldie but a goodie - the eumundi markets come alive during xmas. Pop in to pick up a different kind of present for your loved ones or spend the day strolling around the eclectic stalls. Prepare for the crowds. 
  22. Feel like some high end shopping or just feel like browsing the day away? Stroll down Hastings street in Noosa and pick up something special, or not. (Men, you can wait at the Noosa Surf Club).
  23. Right at the doorstep of The Point Coolum are the 3 bays. Spend a lazy day at one of them in relative seclusion or enjoy a walk around the cliffs from one to the other. Makes you feel like you're away from it all around here. 
  24. Last but not least, get away from the beach and enjoy a day trip up in the hinterland to check out Montville and Maleny. Don’t miss the candy demonstration at Candy Addictions and on the way back, stop by the famous Kenilworth cheese factory.
