Climb Mount Coolum

Coolum Beach, QLD, 4573

The stunning Mount Coolum presides over the village of Coolum Beach and offers spectacular views from the top.

An 800 m long track climbs Mount Coolum from the east. The lower part of the track is well-formed and gentle but it quickly becomes very steep, very rough and slippery when wet, so it is recommended that only experienced bushwalkers attempt to climb Mount Coolum. The walk up and back can be completed in under an hour.

The Mount Coolum National Park is noted for its remarkable ecological diversity, with more than 700 different species of plant identified, as well as a range of animals. A pair of peregrine falcons, the fastest birds in the world, are reported to nest on the cliffs.
